Yard Maintenance

Job Title: Yard Maintenance

Department: Service

Position Reports to: Service Manager

Summary of Position:

The yard maintenance worker is responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. Coordinate the day to day operation of the maintenance department. Responsible for the upkeep and preservation of Delta Power Equipment grounds, including landscaping and snow removal. Accountable for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serves as delivery driver for customer drop off and pick up.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on daily equipment and facility.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work
  • Maintain property surrounding office and shop, including weed control, litter control and keeps yard and grounds in organized, professional manner.
  • Serves as main contact for all field personnel, and for all materials and small tools in the yard
  • Inspect all equipment and materials when returned to the yard; thoroughly check equipment to make sure it is in working condition and store materials in an orderly fashion.
  • Development and implementation of inventory systems, maintaining the yard to ensure workplace safety, inspection of materials and equipment to ensure proper working condition, and efficiently storing all material.
  • Operate and move equipment as needed
  • Drive company vehicles, as required.
  • Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces as required.
  • Operate grounds-keeping power equipment and maintain external property.
  • Responsible for landscaping and the overall aesthetic look of Delta Power Equipment property.
  • Locks or unlocks doors, turns lights on/off, generally patrols grounds.
  • Maintains outside grounds (removes snow, ice, and debris, sprays and removes weeds, sweeps and cleans gutters, waters and maintains sprinkling system).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Technical/Professional Knowledge

  • Experience in building and property maintenance.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Experience hauling trailiers.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to perform small repairs and light construction.
  • Ability to pinpoint problems and create solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A self-starter with time management and project management skills.
  • Must be dependable, reliable; possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Possess valid G drivers license is a must.
  • Valid D drivers license is an asset

Work Conditions:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 75lb
  • Local travel will be required
  • Overtime as required
  • Hazards associated with the trade
  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods and to bending, twist, push, pull and carry equipment and supplies
  • Safety equipment will be required (For example, steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses)

Compensation:

Compensation will be based on experience.
